FreshBlood | Hubvantage

Hubvantage 2025 is a personalized support program, now in its 4th edition, offering a 4-month tailored mentoring and training program for 15 startups from the healthcare field. The program involves relevant healthcare provider representatives who will actively participate throughout the program, in areas like matchmaking, mentoring, and engaging with start-ups.

Hubvantage started in 2022 as a pilot program for a number of selected startup founders in partnership with Freshblood HealthTech, UBB’s HIVE Health Innovation Centre and Activize, with the support of EIT Health Innostars, and is unique among the local initiatives since it accelerates startup network and expertise growth, facilitating the joint pilots and implementations.

Why apply?

Within the program, startup founders will receive:

– thorough needs assessment & identifying ( pointing out the startup’s bottlenecks, defining the mentoring needs of the startups, identify the key people needed to connect for each startup)

– 2 Specialized Workshops:

– focused on healthcare market access principles and executions – June – Trainer: Ion Gheorghe PETROVAI

– focused on grant identification and grant writing – July – Trainer: Alina FORRAY

– 3 personalized one-on-one mentorings

– 3 matchmaking sessions with national and international experts

– the opportunity to be part of an exclusive club of health founders that inspire and support each other

Who should apply?

Startup founders with a minimum 1 year of activity on the topic

Focus on MedTech or Digital Health

Have a team of at least two people

Have a legal entity

How it works?

1. Apply

2. Selection

Your application will be evaluated. It’s important that you meet the entry criteria.

3. Start the program

If selected you will participate in the program and get all the personalized support you need.

4. End of program

Startups will get the opportunity to talk about lessons learned and decide next steps.

Program structure

Launch of the program

6 May – Selected startups will kick off the program with a 1-day event, where they will pitch their solution for a jury of healthcare providers representatives where they will receive feedback, meet the mentors and the workshop presenters.

Needs assessments of the startups

7- 30 May – selected startups will have a thorough needs assessment & identification of their immediate needs leading to identifying bottlenecks, identifying mentoring needs.

Specialized Workshops

May – June selected startups will have 2 training sessions on grant identification, writing and partnership management, and market access and business development for healthtech startups

Mentorship

2 June – 31 October – Throughout the program, participants will have access to experienced mentors who will guide them in achieving their set goals. Startups will have 3 1:1 mentoring sessions.

Matchmaking sessions

25 June – 25 September – selected startups will have 3 matchmaking sessions/startup, out of which 1 with an international stakeholder

End of program & Launch of the HealthTech Map

20 November – Organize the closing of the program and launch of the HealthTech Map where the startups network with the mentors and key people from healthcare providers.
